- Introduction
-
- This is a quick program that serves one purpose: To read
- your Squish.Cfg and an ELAREA.DAT style file and create
- *.SQR or *.DSC files for Maximus. That when a user
- enters an area he will be displayed the "official"
- description of the area. There is also a facility to
- add your own text to these files.
-
- This program has been compiled for OS/2. I suspect it
- could be compiled under DOS, but you might run into
- memory problems. The source is included.
-
- Legal Stuff
-
- This is being distributed as freeware. The source is
- also included. You are free to modify it and use it as
- you see fit, as long as you send me the resulting source
- code. If you enjoy this program, consider donating a
- few dollars to your local Boy Scout troop.
-
- SINCE THIS IS A FREE PROGRAM, THERE IS NO WARRANTY OF
- ANY KIND. THIS PROGRAM IS GUARENTEED TO CONSUME YOUR
- HARD DRIVE SPACE, NOTHING MORE.
-
- Using Addrules
-
- If you type ADDRULES without any paramters a brief help
- screen will be displayed. The syntax is:
-
-
- ADDRULES <Squish.Cfg> <Elarea.dat> <Ext> [<MergeDir>]
- Where:
- <Squish.Cfg> is the path and filename of your Squish.Cfg File
- <Elarea.Dat> is the path and filename of your ELArea.Dat style file
- <Ext> is the three letter extension of the resulting files to have.
- Usually SQR or DSC. For an explaination of the difference,
- see the Maximus manual.
- <MergeDir> The directory that contains files of the same name as the
- area filename to merge with the resulting files.(optional)
-
-
- An explaination of MergeDir is needed. I've found it
- useful, with the help of a friend to save the rules of a
- conference into a text file. The problem was that I
- wanted users to have the conference description as well
- as the conference rules. So, I save the conference rules
- into a directory and name them the same name as the
- Squish file name(not the same name as the echo tag) with
- the extension of .TXT. Then Addrules will append them to
- the end of the conference description. The only fault
- I've found with this so far is if the conference rules
- are long, it tends to minimize the appearance of the
- description.
